Day One

This sculpture is about the beginnings of time, and is meant as a direct opinion of man's beginnings to life and each other, how we have developed and grown. The words "let there be light" meaning for me the time of man's enlightenment of becoming aware. Hence the apple and fig painting. Also, it links to what many think was a big explosion, which signified the beginning of the planet, etc. The beginnings of time for humanity, the laying down of knowledge, of wisdom, of one being aware of one's own conscience and consciousness. It also reflects where we base our time from and date our existence. |
