This piece is another exploration into the same subject as the small oil "Turmoil" and reflects a time in the artist's life as a child. It represents what happens when something pure and round enters an unstable substance creating the turmoil around it, the sphere is crashing into the water as is the apple bobbing around in the waves.

It is reflective of what as a child innocent and free he felt as life changed dramatically through abuse from an outsider.
